James Loudon is a B2B community builder, executive facilitator, and insights connector with over 20 years of experience helping multinational executives in Asia, particularly China, on a broad spectrum of strategic and Asia market expansion issues, leveraging his skill as a horizontal thinker and networker to connect insights across diverse industries.

Based in Vienna since 2020, after living in Beijing and Shanghai for 16 years, James operates independently through his advisory firm, Propeller Strategies KG, where he serves clients as an advisor and contractor.

He is currently the Director of Member Development, International, at The Conference Board. The Conference Board, established in 1916, is a global, independent think tank that helps leaders navigate the critical issues affecting business and better serve society. James collaborates with multinational executives and their teams in this role to leverage the depth and breadth of The Conference Board's portfolio of C-suite Councils and Centers of research to help international companies endure and thrive amidst shifting geopolitics, rapid digital disruption, and growing sustainability demands. He believes a peer-led approach is especially relevant today, empowering organizations to enhance strategic foresight, improve decision-making, and cultivate resilience for the leadership and talent transformations ahead.

James co-founded and curates the Asia Growth Exchange (AGX), an “invite-only” B2B community and Asia innovation ecosystem for directors and senior managers involved in localization, venture building, digital transformation, and ecosystem development. It is a collaborative informal hub that shares practical ideas, expert insights, and methodologies, helping participants connect the dots and translate ideas into practical actions. We convene sessions virtually and as in-person breakfasts or evening mixers in Shanghai, Singapore, Munich, and Zurich.

For the past 15 years, James has moderated hundreds of business roundtables in Shanghai on topics ranging from talent and technology to go-to-market strategies, governance, corporate structures, and market trends. He regularly contributes to corporate briefings, internal strategy sessions, MBA courses, and management workshops.

James holds a Master's in Economics from Erasmus School of Economics in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
